Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
Leader of the Trillium Party of Ontario
Aurora Street Festival…AMAZING!
Bob Yaciuk had the pleasure of enjoying the Aurora Street Festival this past Sunday, June 5th, with several Trillium supporters. There were thousands of people enjoying the Sunday afternoon.
“I had the pleasure of speaking to hundreds of families and the same consistent refrain was being repeated” says Mr. Yaciuk. “How did we manage to get Wynne as our Premier? The PC’s seem to be going down the same track as they always have. Trying to be everything to everyone and end up being nothing to anyone!”
It seemed the hottest topics continue to be the Sex Ed curriculum and the carbon tax followed closely by the gas tax and electricity prices.
It’s the season for the country fair, burgers and hot dog circuit… so try to let us know when and where you think we should attend and we’ll do our best to be there!
Trillium Party of Ontario Press Conference
Trillium Party Leader, Bob Yaciuk, held his first Press Conference earlier today, April 21st, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. near Queen’s Park.
During the conference, some highlighted discussions occurred when Mr. Yaciuk addressed current sitting MPPs. In particular, those who got caught up in the “political Party madness, amid all the whips, the promises, the compromises and the bureaucratic quagmire, they got lost and trapped”.
“I encourage and urge you to consider crossing the floor” said Mr. Yaciuk, “and join the Trillium Party in creating Something Different and Something Better”.
Already there are 11 candidates ready to take the field should an election be called. Mr. Yaciuk followed by indicating they will be running a candidate in the upcoming Scarborough-Rouge River by-election.
At this early stage of the Party, there are already over 1,000 members signed up throughout Ontario. Mr. Yaciuk wants to see this number grow and encouraged all to visit the Party’s website (www.TrilliumPartyOntario.ca) to join the team.
So far, the success of the Party’s growth has been through “grass roots” communication. “What this means is shaking hands, making eye contact and discussing every day issues with individuals one on one”.
Mr. Yaciuk put great efforts into making sure that the Trillium Party of Ontario was not defined as a left wing or right wing Party. He would rather have the Party be described as a “common sense wing Party”. This statement was reinforced by indicating that most people do not know the difference between left and right wing policies. He used the example of the Carbon Tax Policy, clearly left wing, being embraced by the new leader of the Progressive Conservatives, thereby, making it accepted as a “freshly minted right wing policy”.
“Good policy is good policy, left wing, right wing…who cares…if it helps taxpayers in Ontario have better lives, then let’s go for it”.
In conclusion, Mr. Yaciuk states that the Party has a long way to go but he’s been in these fights before and as he says “all the best things are worth fighting for”.
